Quenching The Kill

Helloo, I started this blog to share info about my album progress, which began mid way through 2011 and finished this August of 2012! It's all finished, thanks to the help of my savings and pledge campaign supporters, (http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/quenching-the-kill) but due to illness, I've not yet been able to officially release the album. The album itself is a culmination of my musical ideas over the last few years. In the songs are the themes within the paradox I find most interesting in life- opposites. Musical ideas in this album are exploring the opposition of life/death, light/dark, childhood/adulthood through textures (rough and smooth, wood and metal) and different harmonic colours (dramatic and subtle). The sounds are a mixture of being lyrical in some songs to very up front and quite intense in others, with vibraphones, marching drums, savage string quartet and bass lines, playful violin and 'made up' percussion. <p>
